Abstract

To compare endogenous catecholamine concentrations in the arousal state with the degree of rigidity of nocturnal penile erections (NPE) in psychogenic impotence, we measured diurnal epinephrine(E) and norepinephrine(NE) concentrations in the
systemic
and cavernosal blood and compared them w3ith the regidity of the penis measured using the RigiScan in 48 psychogenically impotence patients. The results(pg/ml) were as follows:
There appears to be no relation between the catecholamine concentration in the blood in the arousal state the rigidity of NPE in psychogenic impotence.
